The Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Festival, also known as BalonFest, is an international balloon event held in Cappadocia, Turkey. Unlike a normal morning in Cappadocia, the festival brings together unusual special-shaped balloons and pilots from different countries for several days of balloon-focused events.
In 2026, the seventh edition took place from July 30 to August 2 and featured 30 special-shaped balloons from 10 countries alongside Cappadocia’s regular commercial balloon fleet.
Expect to see balloons shaped like animals, hearts, characters, and other creative designs rising above Cappadocia’s volcanic landscape at sunrise. Evening balloon glow displays add another dimension to the festival, with balloons illuminated from the ground after dark.

Can You Ride a Hot Air Balloon During the Cappadocia Balloon Festival?
